Your data on CeX Tracker
Stock Finder, Store Finder and Stock Radar are built to work without accounts. Most of what they remember stays in your own browser. This page lists everything that leaves it. Last updated 27 October 2026.
Who runs this
CeX Tracker is run by an individual as an independent, non-commercial project. For anything on this page, including deleting data, contact the site operator.
Stored in your browser only
These are kept in your browser's local storage. We can't see them, and clearing your site data removes them.
- Your watchlist, including any target prices you set
- Your chosen store ("My store")
- Recent searches, scans and recently viewed products
- Stores near you that you looked up, with the approximate location used to find them, kept for up to 7 days
- Display settings, such as Buying/Selling prices, scanner sound and percentage columns
Sent to our servers
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Searches and product pages you open | To look up prices and stock in our copy of the CeX catalogue | Not kept beyond server logs (below) |
| Camera frames from the barcode scanner, when your phone can't read the barcode itself | To read the shelf-label barcode | Processed in memory and discarded straight away. Never saved. |
| Scanner outcomes (opened, not found, abandoned) and how the code was read | Daily totals so we can tell whether the scanner works | Counts only, with no images, codes or identifiers. Kept for 30 days. |
| Your location, only when you tap "Near me" or "Use my location" | To find the nearest CeX stores. It is passed on to CeX's store-search service. | Not stored on our servers |
| Your IP address, browser type and the page requested | Normal web server logs, plus short-term limits that stop one visitor overloading the scanner or sync | Rate limits are held in memory for minutes. Logs are kept for a short time for fault-finding. |
Optional features
Sync between devices
If you turn on sync, your watchlist (with target prices) and My store are saved on our server under a random sync code. Anyone with the code can see and change that list, so treat it like a password. Nothing else about you is attached to it. Synced data that no device has opened for a year is deleted automatically.
To delete it yourself, open Watchlist → Sync & alerts → Delete my data. That removes it from our server straight away, clears it from the device you're using, and clears it from your other linked devices the next time they open Stock Finder. The sync code then stops working.
Watchlist notifications
If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push address run by its maker (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft). We store it with your sync code and a note of which alerts we've already sent, so you don't get repeats. The notification text passes through that push service. Turning notifications off, deleting your synced data, or the address expiring deletes it.
Discord bot
If you use the CeX Tracker Discord bot, it stores your Discord user ID with the products you watch, your home store and any webhook addresses you give it, until you remove them with its commands. Discord's own privacy policy covers your use of Discord.
Other services your browser talks to
- CeX: product images load directly from CeX's servers, and "View on CeX" links take you to their site.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare): icons for all apps. unpkg: the map library in Store Finder.
- FluffyMaps: map tiles in Store Finder. The map area you view is requested from it.
- Google Maps: only when you tap a "Directions" link.
- Our hosting may sit behind Cloudflare, which can set strictly necessary security cookies.
Each of these sees your IP address when your browser loads something from it, under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Because we don't run accounts, the only personal data we can find is data linked to a sync code or push subscription you give us. The quickest way to delete your synced data is the Delete my data button described above. For anything else, email the site operator with your sync code. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We rely on legitimate interests to run the service you're using, and on your consent for location, sync and notifications, which you can withdraw at any time.
